Bunt

Role: Electric Guitar Tutor

Availability: Tuesday-Thursday

Speciality: Blues, Jazz, Soul, Country, Popular, Rock, Metal. 

Student Types:  Adults

Robbie has 36 years of experience as professional entertainer and musician. He has been around the world performing as vocalist playing professional level electric and acoustic guitar.

He has also been session musician as bassist, piano, synths, basic drums and percussion. He is an all round talent and has even worked as a comedian aboard cruise liners holidays.  

 

He has been a private guitar teacher for many many years and taught music at cornwall college. He loves teaching but also enjoys working in recording studios, sound recording and has even produced several albums as producer, engineer and writer.

Robbie is very much a people person and teaches adults who want to continue to advance their knowledge of guitar.

Zak

Ranyard

Role: Guitar and BassTutor

Availability: Monday-Thursday.

Speciality: Pop, Rock, Funk, Soul , Blues.

Student Types: Teens and Adults

Zak is a professional bass player, who has spent his entire working life in
the industry. He has a wealth of knowledge, having played many different
genres of music, and been a touring musician for multiple award winning
artists. During his career, Zak has spent seven years performing with the
Undercover Hippy, five years with Elles Bailey, and two years with Eddie
Martin, extensively touring the UK, Europe and Nashville, America. Zak
regularly plays festivals across the country, including Glastonbury,
Boomtown, Secret Garden Party, C2C and Wilderness, and has supported
popular artists such as Ben Howard, The Cat Empire, Grandmaster Flash,
and Mud Morganfield.
In addition to touring, Zak’s playing and writing can be found on much
recorded material, which has been streamed over a million times, on
multiple platforms including Spotify, Apple Music and Youtube. This work
has been supported by BBC Radio including Radio 2, Radio 4, Radio
1Xtra, and Radio 6 music.
Zak has a real passion for teaching, and has taught since graduating from
university, alongside his busy touring schedule. Zak’s students have
attained Grade eight bass to distinction level, to go onto university
themselves. Zak holds a degree in professional musicianship from BIMM,
as well as rockschool grade eight in both bass guitar, and electric guitar.

Daniel

Cornell

Role: Classical Tutor

Availability: Monday & Saturday.

Speciality: Classical & Acoustic guitar and Classical piano.

Student Types: Kids and Teens

Daniel studied guitar privately all of his younger years and then continued when he went to the University of St Andrews. He studied the guitar with Matthew McCallister who is a lecturer in guitar at the Royal Conservatoire of Glasgow. He has also attended masterclasses with world class performers such as Andrei Dieci and Pablo Rodriguez.

 

Daniel has been teaching guitar privately since 2015 after graduating from university. He has taught a range of styles but his main area of focus is classical guitar as well as musical theory. He currently teaches a wide range of ages from 5 and above. Daniel also enjoys advancing pupils to their grade 8 exams in Trinity.

 

Daniel also plays with with his own duet, Leto duets, and have arranged certain pieces of classical music for the guitar and violin from composers such as Bach, Pachelbel and Mendelssohn. Moreover, they have performed at private events in Cornwall since starting up just over a year ago. Daniel was also a performer in the guitar ensemble at the University of St Andrews as well as being a part of the jazz group there. He also played regularly at the jazz jam night in town.

Ben

Lennox

Role: Acoustic and ElectricTutor

Availability: Friday

Speciality: Pop and Rock.

Student Types: Kids and Teens.

Ben has been teaching Electric Guitar for many years and has had experience in music and guitar for more than 20 years. He has also studied Music at Falmouth University.

 

Ben has a lot of performance experience as lead guitarist with rock bands and cover bands in many different genres. He loves inspiring young students not only in Electric guitar but in recording and producing which are his other hobbies.

Ben has been teaching at The Studios in Newquay for 2 Years and is very reliable and professional.
